Profile - Laura Black

Laura started dancing at the age of three in the style of Tap, Majorettes, Highland and Scottish National. Laura worked hard every week to make sure she knew all her steps before the next lesson. She also enjoyed Scottish Country Dancing, where she won various competitions and danced at the European Special Olympics and Aberdeen International Youth Festival.

When Laura was old enough, she started to help out with the younger classes then, with the desire to keep going in the world of dance, she became a qualified teacher in 2004. As times were changing, Laura had a passion for Street Dance and took on all the Street classes in 2008 and started choreographing her own routines. Laura loves trying to find the students' 'inner divas' and tries to help everyone gain confidence as they perform. Laura keeps up to date with all genres of dance and regularly attends workshops and hopes to continue gaining further qualifications.

Dance is a huge part of her life, but Laura also works part time as an Executive Assistant and is also mum to Emmie. She hopes her love for dance will rub off onto her daughter, who is already showing signs of being a performer!
