Profile - Lee Simpson

Lee started dance lessons at the tender age of two with Alice Stuart at Stuart School of Dancing in Aberdeen. With a keen interest in dance and years of assisting the younger dance classes, Lee was keen to further her teaching skills and obtained her first professional qualification with the BATD (British Association Teachers of Dancing) in 1994. Throughout the years, she has worked hard to gain many more qualifications in Highland, Scottish National, Stage and Tap. During 2008/09 Lee decided she wanted more for Danz Creations and decided to further her dance knowledge, so undertook to study with the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing). After sitting the necessary vocational examinations, she gained her DDI (Diploma in Dance Instruction) qualification in Tap Dance in 2011. She is currently studying for the next qualification (DDE - Diploma in Dance Education), which she hopes to complete within the next year.

In 2006 Danz Creations was established, with Lee spearheading the school. With her passion and usual enthusiasm towards anything to do with dance, she is always keen to broaden her students' knowledge and skills in all aspects of dance. She regularly attends courses in Glasgow and London and organises outings for her students to BATD Days of Dance in Glasgow. These trips have since led to Lee being a tutor at these events, which goes to show how highly she is regarded in the BATD dance world.

On the rare occasions that Lee is not dancing, she likes to spend time with her family. Married with two children, her spare time is never dull! Having such a hectic work and family life makes you wonder how on earth she has the time to fit things in, but she manages with her usual flair although she would admit she has great support from her family and friends.
